The first world war or the war for the redivision of the world between the German – Austrian bloc and the Entente (Britain, France and the Russian Empire) began on 1 August 1914. Russia declared war on Germany, and five days later to Austria – Hungary. In the military campaign of 1915 the Germans directed the main attack of their armies against Russia. In this regard, in August the Western front was created with its headquarters in Minsk. Belarus became the front line. In Ozery the mobilization of all men aged 18 to 45 years under penalty of death was declared.
From August 3, 1915 to July 10, 1919 Ozery was occupied by the Germans, who during the First World War built the railroad through the township. It passed through the village from North-West to South-East. From this way, today there is a former station on the Stantsionnaya street, up to 2012 it housed a music school for children. The resident of Ozery still that the father of Armour Pakubiat, Anton, was called to the front and was lucky to return home alive. Czeslaw Orehvo fought in the Austrian army and died. Joseph Hubarevich was killed in action at the age of 23 years.
From 1921 – 1939 Ozery was occupied by Poland, by the Treaty of Riga (1921) the town became a part of the interwar Polish Republic, belonged to the Grodno district. Trifty Germans and then the poles began actively to cut down the Ozersky forest. The entrance to the forest for berries and mushrooms has to be paid. For shipping timber to the sawmill (Tartak) a narrow-gauge railway was built. One of them started in the woods between Tobolski booth and Bushnell, passed along the road Grodno – Ozery and coincided with existing railway Grodno – Mosty. Now you can see partially preserved mound from the road.
The locomotives were continuously drawn to the wood platform to the West. Horn of the Tartak woke Ozery at 6 am. Its voice was heard in the surrounding villages. By the way, in these places in 1955 filmmaker Lev Golub was shooting a children's film "Mikolka – parovoz". Poland paid for money and military assistance received from France for the revival of its independence with Ozery forest.
